ReelGrab Privacy Policy

ReelGrab helps you save movies and TV shows recommended in social media posts. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
What we collect
- Account: your name and email from Google or Apple sign-in, to identify your account.
- Posts you share: the link (or screenshot) you share with ReelGrab, and the post's text, images or video that we read to find titles. We keep a short text excerpt and the found titles in your history. Screenshots are deleted as soon as they have been read.
- Your list: the movies and shows you add, and which services they are synced to.
- Connected services: if you connect Trakt or TMDB, we store access tokens (encrypted) to update your ReelGrab list there. IMDb and Letterboxd sign-ins stay on your device; our server never receives those passwords or cookies.
How we use it
Only to run ReelGrab: reading the posts you share, identifying titles, matching them on TMDB, keeping your list and history, and syncing to the services you connect. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Service providers
- Google Gemini (and OpenRouter as a backup) analyses the content of posts you share to find titles. Free AI tiers may use this content to improve their products. Don't share private content you don't want analysed. Your name and email are never sent to AI providers.
- TMDB for movie and TV information. Trakt, TMDB, IMDb, Letterboxd receive the titles you choose to sync.
- Contabo hosts our server in the European Union.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete single grabs (swipe in History) or titles (in My list) at any time. Posts shared by any user may be cached for up to 14 days so the same post isn't analysed twice. You can delete your account and all its data at any time in the app (Settings → Delete account), or see how to delete your account. Database backups are kept for up to 30 days.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, and stored access tokens are encrypted.
Children
ReelGrab is not directed at children under 13.
